The challenge

Tax Guru started off as us building a custom AI tool for a Gold Coast accounting firm to help with accounting queries and research. It worked well for them, but it was a fragile, single-prompt system built for one team — not a product that could be sold to other firms. To make this tool that really changed the accounting game for the firm reach accountants nation wide and potentially globally, we built it into a true SaaS from the ground up, with reliability, scalability, and user experience in mind.

We rebuilt it as a true SaaS, end to end:

• Agentic harness — multiple AI agents for every different part of accounting.
• Curated knowledge base — a vetted, expert-grade source of truth so answers stay accurate and defensible and not scrapped from LLMs parameters or the web.

The outcome

Tax Guru is now changing the way accountants handle complex tax scenarios and research, saving them time and helping them serve their clients better.
